September 2018
We spent a day in Anchorage, riding bikes along the coastal trail, then drove to Potter Marsh. The next morning We hopped in the minivan and hit the road, passing a beautifully still lake and endless stretches of trees.
We drove south to Seward and stayed overnight before taking the Kenai Fjords National Park cruise. From the boat we saw steller sea lions and a few pods of orcas. The highlight of the tour was pulling up next to a beautiful glacier. At the end of the cruise a cute otter greeted us while floating around the harbor. Before leaving Seward we drove out to see exit glacier.
On the road back from Seward, we stopped a the Alaska WildLife Conservation Center to see some Alaskan wildlife up close.
For our visit to Denali, Lara managed to win the road lottery, meaning that we could take our car all the way into the park and stop whenever we chose. After a quick visit to the sled dogs, we drove all the way to the end of the Denali Park Road and saw lots of wildlife along the way.
