ROMA NORTE

In Roma Norte, the famous statue Ángel de la Independencia was vandalized during recent protests. We stopped by Mercado Medellín for Saturday morning carnitas tacos with chicharrónes. We also had a great seafood lunch at Contramar.

EL CENTRO

The next day we visited el centro historico and took a walking tour around the neighbordhood. Afterward we stopped for lunch in the restaurant at the top of la Torre Latinoamericana. Later we tried some tacos de cachete (cheek), ojo (eyeball), y cesos (brains) and then saw the Templo Mayor museum. In the afternoon a huge food market was taking place in the Zócalo so we stopped for some more food. After a rest we had an amazing meal at Enrique Olvera's Pujol.

TEOTIHUACAN

In the morning we took an early van to visit Teotihuacan and forgot all the snacks in the car. The weather was beautiful and we climbed up the three pyramids from the ancient civilization.

POR FIN

After the pyramids, we watched Ballet Folklórico at el Palacio de Bellas Artes. In the morning, we tried (and failed) to ride bikes through Bosque de Chapultepec. Luckily, we had great tortas de chilaquiles for breakfast and also a great lunch at Rosetta before heading to the airport.
