Stopped through Death Valley on the way to Las Vegas. Definitely a barren and desolate landscape. Visited the Mesquite Flat sand dunes, and Badwater Basin - the lowest elevation in North America at -282 feet.

Stopped through Death Valley on the way to Las Vegas. Definitely a barren and desolate landscape. Visited the Mesquite Flat sand dunes, and Badwater Basin - the lowest elevation in North America at -282 feet.
Met up with a bunch of friends from graduate school for a trip to the mountains in north Georgia. Rented a three-story cabin complete with a hot tub and a great view.
Ferried over to the island during a heatwave and enjoyed the clear sky, clean water, and fresh fish.
Three-day weekends are the best.
