We flew into Bozeman Thursday night and then drove out to West Yellowstone. Friday morning we entered the park and drove up past Gibbon falls to the Norris geyser basin. Next we drove down to the Grand Prismatic spring and then on to Old Faithful. After a long day of walking around geysers, we drove on to Grant Village for the evening and got stuck eating frozen burritos from the service station for dinner.
Next morning we drove south and into Grand Teton National Park. We stopped at a few turnouts on the east side of the park and then hiked to Taggart Lake. We ate a late lunch at Signal Mountain Lodge before driving back into Yellowstone for a dinner at the Grant Village dining room.
On Sunday we continued counter-clockwise around the main loop and stopped in the morning at Yellowstone Lake. We saw many bison and an elk on the way through Hayden Valley, and also saw the geysers in the Mud Volcano area. After lunch we hiked along the south rim trail of the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and checked out the falls viewpoints on the north rim.
To end the trip we drove up toward the Tower-Roosevelt area and saw Tower Falls. We drove partway toward the Lamarr Valley, up until the road closed. Finally we saw Mammoth Hot Springs and then drove back to Bozeman for a flight out.
